Trident Aqua Services was formally launched in May 2025 as the result of the merger between Intership, Aquaship, and FSV Group. The leadership transition marks a new milestone for the company, which has already established itself as a major global player in the aquaculture sector. With operations across three continents, a fleet of more than 60 specialized vessels and over 1,000 employees, Trident is now the second-largest maritime service provider to the global aquaculture industry.

“I would like to thank Ole-Peter Brandal for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the vision of Trident. Under his guidance, Trident has set a strong foundation for the future. We look forward to our continued partnership with both Ole-Peter and Arild in building a leading platform in this industry.” says Alex Schukin, Partner at American Industrial Partners.

Arild Aasmyr has served as CEO of FSV Group for the past seven years, during which he led the company through a period of significant growth and operational maturity.

“Leading a company that brings together the industry’s top expertise with a fully integrated service model is a tremendous opportunity — and one I am deeply motivated by. We have a strong team, a modern fleet, and a clear vision: to safeguard sustainable seafood production,” says Aasmyr.

Brandal, who has led Intership since its inception, has been instrumental in building the company into a globally recognized player. He will continue to remain actively involved in Trident Aqua Services as a Director and consultant.

“I handover the reins with both pride and confidence. Over the past months, we’ve worked intensively to build relationships, share expertise, and establish a strong common foundation. Now it's time for the next phase, and I am confident that Arild is the right person to lead Trident forward,” says outgoing CEO Ole-Peter Brandal.

“Trident is more than a merger. It is a new company with global ambitions and an unparalleled range of services. We aim to elevate the aquaculture industry by being a reliable partner, an attractive employer, and a driving force for sustainable growth,” Aasmyr adds.

Since the merger was announced in December 2024, Trident has worked systematically to build a unified culture. Now fully launched, the company is ready to take a more active position in a rapidly evolving global industry.

“With Trident, we have the scale and the technology to make a meaningful difference in global aquaculture. We intend to challenge conventional thinking, set new standards in safety, fish welfare, and operations—and help ensure that aquaculture remains one of the world’s most vital future industries,” Aasmyr concludes.
